Jujutsu Kaisen

Image
Welcome back my wonderful weebs! This week I watched the first 3 episodes of the famous anime Jujutsu Kaisen which for the sake of my horrid ability to spell I will be referring to as JJK. This anime was produced by the very well-known studio MAPPA and was released in 2020 becoming a resounding hit in the anime community. I watched the first season around a year ago and recently just watched season 2 as it was coming out. This is one of my personal favorites, so please beware of bias in my review! Though I have to say that I was excited to look back on JJK with a more critical lens.  Plot: BEWARE Some Episode 1 Spoilers   We open up in a strange room lit only by candles and Yuji Itadori, our main character, is strapped to a chair in the middle of the room. A man wearing a blindfold tells him something shocking. He's to be executed. Earlier.......Yuji Itadori is a bit of an abnormal high school student he's inhumanly strong and quick. He is also a part of his school's O

Welcome back my wonderful weebs! This week I watched 3 episodes of the famously popular show Attack on Titan! I've heard a lot about this anime and it's been on my list of things to watch for a while now, so I was very eager to check it out! Attack on Titan was released in 2013 and was produced by both Wit Studios and Production I.G. for its first 3 seasons while studio MAPPA produced the final fourth season. Now that we know a bit about the production, let's move on to the review! Plot: In this world, humanity has been living peacefully within the three walls that surround their cities for the last 100 years. Safe from the giant titans who would hunt and devour all humans. Soon after they showed up they became an apex predator. Everyone believes that since the walls are high enough they are safe. Until one day a giant titan unlike any seen before breaks through the outermost wall and as a result, lets in a stream of titans. The Titans slaughter all in their wake. Includin

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Welcome back my wonderful weebs! This week I watched the first 3 episodes of the anime studio Madhouse's huge hit Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. This anime is rated in the number one spot of all anime on My Anime List (the IMDb of anime), so I went into this show with very high expectations. Before we begin the review, I should preface that this world is a fantasy, dungeons and dragons, medieval, type of land. Alrighty, now that we know that let's begin! Plot: The story of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End contains ideas on humanity, the shortness of life, losing those close to you, and the sadness that comes with it. It's definitely a tear-jerker. The first episode of Frieren opens up 50 years in the past with a seemingly immortal elf named Frieren and her band of companions. They had just defeated the demon king and ended their 10-year adventure. When they eventually part ways Frieren says she'll take them to a meteor shower that will show up in around 50 years.
